Started in 2015 and officially opened in the beginning of 2017, the zine collection has two parts: a general use set at the Sarah Doyle, and an archival set through the Pembroke Center’s Christine Dunlap Farnham Archive. Areas of strength include zines by and about people of color, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and other queer peoples, and disabled people as well zines about interpersonal violence, sex and relationships, sex work, the prison industrial complex, self-care, art and activism, feminism, and punk. The majority of the zines are from the 2010s, though the earliest is from 1988 (which is at Pembroke).

Zine Collection
The Sarah Doyle Center (SDC) Zine collection was initiated and created through the efforts of Malana Krongelb '19 during her time at Brown and while working as the SDC student librarian. Malana also drafted the corresponding Zine F.A.Q.s and Zines in the Classroom resource pages.
Sarah Doyle Center student librarians continue to curate the zine collection at the center and create related programs and events connected with the collection.
